If you are looking to port some data from an old data file to a new one, you can do the following:

  1. Open up your old data file with a compatible version of GrandPrix Race Manager.
  2. Go to the applicable tab on the Main screen.
  3. Click on the "Export" button to save the data to a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file.
    • Note: If running GrandPrix Race Manager Version 15 or below, just above the data table is a toolbar with small buttons.  Click on the "Green X" looking button.
  4. Give the CSV file a name and specify the location to save it.
  5. Create a new data file for your race, if you haven’t already; otherwise, open your new data file with a compatible version of GrandPrix Race Manager.
  6. Go to the applicable tab on the Main screen.
  7. Click on the "Import" button.
  8. Follow the steps of the Import Wizard to pull the data into your new data file.

Note: For the majority of users, the only things that are needed to carry over from one year to the next would be rosters and the awards list.  With rosters, since age groups have likely changed, you may more easily make the necessary edits in the CSV file before doing the import.  CSV files can be opened by spreadsheet programs like Microsoft Excel.  Just make sure to save it back as a CSV file.
