With newer versions of Windows, you may get a message like "Windows protected your PC". According to Microsoft documentation, once enough people have installed the particular version of our software app, and established the 'reputation' of the program, Microsoft will turn this message off for future installations. The problem is that we are in such a small market, that it is difficult to reach that threshold. Anytime that we put out an update to that app, we increment the version number, so that can put us back at square one.
We have been in business since 2002 and have a great reputation in this market. We do scan our computers and website on a regular basis and do digitally sign our software with a code signing certificate. We do not allow anyone else to offer our software for download and we provide CD's to our dealers.
So, how to get around that issue? See this article https://www.redcort.com/timeclock/support/blog/what-does-windows-protected-your-pc-mean
